God first called Ellena Munguia to the children of Romania while she was student at Southwestern Assemblies of God University. She has always had a burden to work and care for children in need. After graduation, she came to Romania to work in an orphanage in the village of Ocna Mures. It was there that she truly fell love with Romanian children. After living in the country for six months she moved to the capital city and was instrumental in helping to establish the Bucharest abandoned babies rescue outreach.
Today Ellena is a full time missionary with the Assemblies of God World Missions, USA, partnering with Touched Romania. God is using her in special ways to reach his children in Romania.

Steven & Jennifer Cuttino
We are a product of Assemblies of God missions. We were reached through Chi Alpha at Sam Houston State and it there where we learned how to walk with God, were discipled, baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit, exposed to missions and were called into the ministry. We met in college and got married after graduating.  We’ve been married for almost five years.

CURRENT ASSIGNMENT
We will be pioneering a ministry to university students in Czech Republic. The Czech Republic has more alcoholics than evangelical Christians and the country is 97% atheistic in their beliefs. Our hearts are for students to be reconciled to Christ, transforming not only the university, but also the marketplace and the world. Students are the most open people group in that country, so we believe that they are key to seeing a nation changed.

PREVIOUS MINISTRY
We served as students and staff for 10 years with Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship on the university campus of Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas. In 2004-05, we also served with Chi Alpha in Belgium for 18 months as Missionary Associates.
Steve just finished serving on staff with Eli Gautreaux at Sam Houston.

Ryan & Laci Moore
Ryan has a Degree in Civil Engineering from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
Served in the United States Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps since January of 2001 and has been involved in construction project management and public works operations for the Navy.

We are newly appointed Assemblies of God missionaries.  Our field assignment will be to serve with Builders International in assisting other Assemblies of God world missionaries with large construction projects around the world.

I Get to Serve Christ as a Missionary

By Andy Raatz

I feel as if I've won the lottery.

I get to serve Christ in Moldova.

As I drove back from a small village this week, swerving around potholes and squinting through the fog, my mind fixated on how fortunate I am to serve in this country.  I detest the concept that I am sacrificing, but smile at the thought of being blessed.

Earlier that day, I chatted with an old married couple of 89 and 86 years of age.  My new friend fought in World War II, but on a different front.  I saw their tiny home, heard their stories and talked to them about Christ.

As we handed bags of groceries to the neediest in the village of Baraboi, I joked with people who had spent their entire life in that village.  I prayed with an old woman who still doesn't know Christ, but is concerned for her sick daughter.

MISSIVE — NOVEMBER 2009

I am in debt to my good friends and colleagues John and Glenda Harris for having sent me the book “The Waiting Father: Sermons on the Parables of Jesus” by Helmut Thielicke. I want to share a quote with you today, because it’s so pertinent to our spiritual well-being.  Thielicke says,

“The man who lets his day grow recklessly and blindly, that is, the man who does not begin his day by talking with God before he goes on to the thousands of words, written and oral, which he must speak to men, that man grows rotten, both physically and nervously.   And what has been called “executive’s disease,” the symptoms of which are ulcers and heart attacks, is often only a symptom of these deeper disorders in the soil of our life.”

How often has this happened in our own lives? In order to expedite the responsibilities of the day, we sometimes leave home without the most important aspect of our life, which is, of course, consulting with God about all those responsibilities and duties we have to perform in the course of the day. It is generally counterproductive, because we end up spending more time correcting errors we have made when we proceed without divine orders.
